'... Slow it down, make it stop, or else my heart is going to pop...'
Of the most epic awesome...a Twilight parody of unparalleled excellence.

I am so in love with this clip. It starts off slow, like a re-enactment of the movie with added snark-'if you were smart, you'd stay away from me', 'well, let's say for argument's sake that I'm not smart...'- then it just explodes into hilarious fun.

'k, so a week after the fact, I finally managed to see Blood on the Scales.

'We've made a veritable habit of defying the odds, particularly William Adama. He is...' *draws shaky breath* '...alive...' *sniffles* She's losing control of her emotions, you can see tears gathering in her eyes, god, Mary has the most expressive eyes.

'...he is alive and he will take command of this fleet again and when that day comes, he's gonna know- who stuck with him and who ran.'

That is the best delivery ever. I love that she's all over the place, she's a mess, and yet she summons up the power and determination to coerce them into bending to her will. In that one line, she's getting high-pitched and sounding desperate, she's falling apart and you think this woman's just clinging to the last vestiges of a fading useless hope, you think she's out of the game, then in a heartbeat, her tone turns to steel and she's fierce and demanding and critical. Shaming the Cylons. [frakking Tory. Pisses me off every time]

'Now who do you wanna be?'
Questioning, almost- gentle. IDK. Her schoolteacher voice?

'Who do you wanna be?!'
Then she switches to the motivational coach role, like at a pep rally or something. And most of the Cylons can't even look at her at this point. Except Leoben, but I think he's already made up his mind at this point to help her. He's the one that provided the Magic Wireless, isn't he?

So that scene was of itself utterly brilliant, because Roslin's crumbling, her world's torn to pieces again, and she still pwns everyone in the room. Cylons, all of them, and they do as she says.

'I will use every cannon, every bomb, every bullet, every weapon I have down to my own eye-teeth to end you. I swear it. I am coming for all of you."

Frakking hell. *shudders* Anyone who says they weren't scared? IS LYING OR SO TRAUMATIZED THEY REPRESSED ALL MEMORY OF THE MOST TERRIFYING THREAT EVER.

Okay, now the major important stuff is done, just randomly:

- Athena? HATEHATEHATE. Wtf is up with her mood swings? Is she on crack? One moment, she kills Natalie for talking to Hera and another, she's perfectly okay with a BLONDE SIX LIKE THE ONE IN HER VISION saying, 'I've got Hera' and picking up and holding her baby girl. SRSLY, writers, what in the frak? Did they reconcile somewhere along the way, what?

- you know, the writers are usually so focused on showing how not in control Roslin is, how limited her leadership is, that it's nice to hear '10 ships out of 35' heeded her and remained behind, taking their chances with the Cylon base ship at her say-so. That was a really sweet moment for me, like, look, people actually support President Roslin, yayz!

- Gaeta, 'But you did give aid and comfort to the enemy. Saul Tigh was a Cylon'- um, why is everyone so quick to hate on Tigh and other Cylons, when they were the leaders of the New Caprica Resistance? It'd make more sense to execute Baltar or other human collaborators before HEROES like Tigh. He lost an eye to the Cylons, come on, it's not like he was fighting for them, he was on the side of the humans. Give the man credit.

- why even pretend to have a trial? That was a kangaroo court. Roslin had an open court case, in front of everyone, with proper judges and witnesses and stuff. This was in a closed room with a foregone verdict. I wish Zarek had been executed a looong time ago.

- why does every Six want to frak Baltar? And btw, where is head!Six lately? I haven't watched the show in ages, just kept up with recaps.

- What's with Baltar's prophetic dreams and why doesn't Roslin ever get useful practical visions? She's supposed to be this mystical figure and yet Baltar's got more accurate powers. Not to mention a cult. She needs one, too, I mean, who wouldn't join the Cult of Laura Roslin?

- I loved Adama going, 'Give me a weapon' two seconds before walking into a room full of people that want him dead. Like, what if the guard hadn't had a spare gun? He'd've just stomped on in there and passive-aggressive'd the hell out of everyone?

- what's happening with all the mutineers? Why aren't they being executed? Can you really trust guys that were willing to riddle you full of bullets, I mean, really?

- I get this thrill every time Laura climbs down a ladder. There's nothing like watching her legs as she descends, lol.

- and does she whack Bill on the shoulder? I couldn't tell, but it looks like she thumps him, all, 'don't ever scare me like that again'. Heh. Cute!

Random meme.

1] Make a list of 5 things you can see:
MP3 player, purse, Fantales [yum], Jim Butcher book, computer
[2] Would you ever get plastic surgery?
No. I don’t care how safe they say it is. I’ll just stay away from mirrors.
[3] What are 5 things you usually keep in your pocket/bag/wallet?
Money. Receipts. Old bus tickets. Picture of Torri Higginson. Random cards- library, video store, gift cards, etc.
[4] What person in your life has made the biggest impact on you?
She’s not in it anymore, but Marina.
[5] What is your dream occupation? (It doesn't have to be realistic)
Being paid to fangirl. Excessively. :P
[6] If you had a choice would you rather fall in love with the man of your dreams (and him fall in love with you) or win the lottery?
Fall in love, hell yeah. I believe all the problems in my life could be solved if I was in love. Because I’d be too ecstatically happy to notice.
[7] Who is the last person you hugged?
My grandmother.
[8] What is your current obsession?
The Lost World. Marguerite Krux. M/R.
[9] What's the last text message you received?
Mother. She’s maxing out her ‘overprotective maternal tendencies’ lately, making me text her so she knows I haven’t been kidnapped or anything. *rolls eyes* In response to me making fun of her for that, she goes, ‘how could I not worry about my most precious one?’ Which is aww and sweet and all, but really. 20 years old. And she’s still keeping tabs on me. O.o
[9b] If you had to live in a fictional place, what would it be?
The Lost World, of course! Although Atlantis or the TARDIS would also suit me fine.
[10] What sites do you always visit when you go online?
My yahoo and optus email accounts, fanfiction.net, livejournal.
[11] Last thing you bought?
‘Another One Bites the Dust’- Jennifer Rardin. I don’t usually buy books, but I was desperate.
[12] What random useless fact did you learn today?
Mother is creepy. She turned up in the underground lab just an hour ago to see if I wanted a lift. *shudders* Considering I’m supposed to be studying, and was- well, not- that sent me into panic mode, lol.
[13] What do you usually drink in the morning?
Nothing usually, except a gulp of water, or of coke.
[14] What would you tell your 12 year old self if you could?
Don’t be a drama queen, have some dignity [I have better self-control now than I did back then].
I’d give her a list of tv shows to watch and people to look up online so that I wouldn’t be years behind the game in my fandoms.
Don’t try so hard to impress people. I wasted a few years of my life trying to fit in, but I was happiest when I broke free and did my own thing.
Pay more attention, give more love to certain people, you never know when they’ll be gone.

Keyboard.

Frakking hell. *shudders* Anyone who says they weren't scared? IS LYING OR SO TRAUMATIZED THEY REPRESSED ALL MEMORY OF THE MOST TERRIFYING THREAT EVER.

Word. Dude, I was freaked. out. Completely and totally so. And yeah, she did kinda thump his arm.

....#17. :P

AHAHA, I thought of you and here you are. Were you spying on my brain? O.o *huggles* I love you for putting up with me. :D Even if you do passive-aggressive with your icon. :P

Word. Dude, I was freaked. out. Completely and totally so.

What made it fantastic is that it wasn't an empty threat. She had the Cylon ship there, she could've totally unleashed hell and destruction upon them if she was inclined to- and holy crap, she was so inclined. Like, if that isn't love...taking apocalyptic vengeance upon those that are thought to have killed your partner...

And yeah, she did kinda thump his arm.

Oh, good, I thought so! That makes it so much better, their love is so high school at times, lol. Ah, this ship of contrasts.

Matter of fact, it's a well known fact that I stalk my friends. :P *squishes*
Lol, the icon is because I'm feeling generally pissed at life. I could really do without being sick right now.

What made it fantastic is that it wasn't an empty threat.

Yeah, seriously. Let's just say it's a good thing they retook Galactica and contacted her when they did, because she so would've blown their asses out of the sky.
The apocalyptic vengeance thing totally fits though. I mean really- the series is centered around the end of the world[s] so that just works.

Ah, this ship of contrasts.

You know their entire relationship has passive aggressive streaks. Less so lately, it seems, but still.
borg_princessborg_princess on February 14th, 2009 04:11 am (UTC)
Heh. I'm just the sort of person to enjoy having a stalker. A friendly one, not the 'will kidnap you and do horrible unspeakable things' kind. One that left me presents and stuff would be cool. :D

Aww, I just flashed over to your lj- tonsilitis? Le suck! Does that mean you can't speak? :O *sends healthy vibes* Get better soon, my sweet!

Btw? I love that you're all 'may not be around for a few days' and then...hello! Your dedication to stalker duties is admirable. There should be medals for this sort of thing. :P

Let's just say it's a good thing they retook Galactica and contacted her when they did, because she so would've blown their asses out of the sky.

Thank god the show's not that dark. Imagine finding out she was the one that actually killed Bill. *cringes* She'd snap and go completely crazy and kill everyone. It'd be the best horror movie ever!

Less so lately, it seems, but still.

Maybe 'cause she called him on it? Silly Bill, trying to deny it. *rolls eyes* I think that was a 'heh, you got me but I ain't gonna admit it' rather than 'no, really, I'm not'. Otherwise, that'd be lame.
help, i'm alive ;;: McAwesomeodakota_rose on February 14th, 2009 04:21 am (UTC)
*gigglesnort* Yeah, well if I ever did kidnap you it'd be so we could go take over the world or something so I doubt you'd complain much. :P

Umm, sorta. I have a little bit of voice but I start coughing when I talk much so I'm pretty much trying not to.
>you have no idea how ridiculously hard that is. Me? NOT TALKING? *gasp*

Btw? I love that you're all 'may not be around for a few days' and then...hello! Your dedication to stalker duties is admirable. There should be medals for this sort of thing. :P

Okay, here's the thing, I am going crazy here. I cannot talk much, and I've been sleeping for most of the past two days. I have to do something or else I'm gonna go bonkers. I've slept enough for the next week, seriously. [normally I sleep 5 or 6 hours a night, give or take]. So I'm camped out with the laptop waiting for BSG.

Thank god the show's not that dark. Imagine finding out she was the one that actually killed Bill. *cringes* She'd snap and go completely crazy and kill everyone. It'd be the best horror movie ever!

Mind meld! I was thinking about that when I wrote the last comment. It would be dark and deeply disturbing and we'd probably all cry for the next year or so.

I think that was a 'heh, you got me but I ain't gonna admit it' rather than 'no, really, I'm not'.

Thing is, they're so domestic it's hilarious. He's not gonna admit it, but she has his number alright.

Random thought:

'kill Bill' + BSG = greater violence and bloodshed than the Uma Thurman movie. *nodnod*

if I ever did kidnap you it'd be so we could go take over the world or something so I doubt you'd complain much

Ha, so right, I'd never turn down a girl proposing world domination. Pfft. I'm ebil enough to enjoy such a thing. After all, I'm a metabolism-stealing cylon supervillain, yo. :D

you have no idea how ridiculously hard that is. Me? NOT TALKING? *gasp*

But this is what LJ is for! Your substitute for talking! and life

Otherwise you're gonna have to invest in one of those things that wrap around your neck and attach to your vocal chords and interpret what you're trying to say. Could be embarrassing, though, I don't know I'd trust them to get it right. [this is real technology, right? I'm not making it up? Maybe it's from tv...]

[normally I sleep 5 or 6 hours a night, give or take]. So I'm camped out with the laptop waiting for BSG.

Jeez! I would love to get 9 or 10 hours of sleep, but I'm forced, FORCED I SAY, to rise at 7:30. It's awful. Trying to learn to survive on 7 or 8 hours of sleep was so hard. If I had to make do with 5 or 6...ohai, Ms Sleep Deprivation, ready to crucify anyone who looks at her wrong. >:[

If I were on BSG, I'd've strangled Eddie, way back in the first season of BSG, for suggesting they all go method and actually not sleep for '33'. *rolls eyes* Hells no.

It would be dark and deeply disturbing and we'd probably all cry for the next year or so.

*wibbles* I thought one of them dying would be the worst thing ever, but you've made me see it could be worse. I'm trembling a little at this line of thought. They couldn't possibly be so evil... but damn, the last few eps have been along that theme, haven't they? Adama maybe having to shoot down the Cylons with Roslin still on board, her ready to shoot down Galactica with him still alive...it was cool before, but I'm not liking this trend, if it ends up being foreshadowing...

they're so domestic it's hilarious.

I love that for once, the whole 'mom and dad' aspect of one of my ships was represented in the show itself, you know? All those scenes with them in robes, lol. The 'I'll be back in time for dinner'/'I'll have it ready' [SO NOT! HAHA!] exchange.
help, i'm alive ;;: daniel + valaodakota_rose on February 14th, 2009 04:59 am (UTC)
Eep. Scary thought, there.

After all, I'm a metabolism-stealing cylon supervillain, yo. :D

How could I forget? :P It's part of why we get along so well.

[this is real technology, right? I'm not making it up? Maybe it's from tv...]

No... I think something like that exists. Maybe? Idk. I thought I've heard about something like that.

for suggesting they all go method and actually not sleep for '33'.

Seriously? I didn't know that. Must've been a whole bunch of interesting shoots. I can do okay without a lot of sleep, I get that from my dad, but my mom and brother are just the opposite. They need their sleep, and lots of it.

They couldn't possibly be so evil... but damn, the last few eps have been along that theme, haven't they?

Okay listen, I've been studiously trying to ignore this trend, because I do not like the implications it brings. And I do not want to start crying goshdarnit. So let's just... go somewhere else. eep. *sticks head in sand*

I don't know why, but the "I'll be back in time for dinner" thing reminded me of that scene in Farscape, lol.

WORD!!! The ships part was one of my favourite! It is so good to know that she is still considered their rightful leader....

I mean, okay, so part of me is like, 'crap, that's 25 that DIDN'T listen to her', but considering how hopeless they all feel, their crumbling dreams at the sight of this destroyed Earth, their instinctive fear and hatred of the Cylons, the violent mutiny...I think that speaks to her incredible oratory skills that she convinced any to remain. Take that, BALTAR. :P

All I need is a cult of Roslin to rival Baltar's and I'll be happy. Because the writers are always playing favorites between the two of them- it's such an epic scale version of sibling rivalry, lol- and I'm not happy. *pouts*
